How did apples become associated with teachers? It’s unfortunate teachers weren’t associated with say gold or diamonds – right? Imagine gifting something so expensive for teacher appreciation week? Look at all my compound questions.
Maybe it’s time for an update. Instead of “A” is for apple, let’s get with the times – “A” is for Amazon gift card (what teacher wouldn’t enjoy that?).
This week is teacher appreciation week. A week dedicated to teachers that try their hardest everyday (hopefully) to provide students with motivation, inspiration, and information.
When I was in the 3rd grade, I had a teacher named Mr. Walthers. I remember him encouraging his students to approach learning with a creative mindset. Math for instance was taught through art, draw this or paint that to better understand solving fractions. This teacher stood apart from the rest. He made learning ‘fun’damental.
This apple string art turned out better than I expected (see the video tutorial below). Hopefully this California grade school teacher loves it as much as I loved creating it.
I’ve also included a free download of a new string art pattern. Enjoy.
