Right now, this week – there’s an unbareable heatwave going on in SoCal. The temperatures are record breaking, no joke. Yesterday, in Huntington Beach it was 109 degrees.
So, on Monday and Tuesday – my husband and I decided to take beach days (my equivalent to snow days).
As we were walking out of the water with boogie boards in tow, I felt a painful “bite” to my left foot. Seriously, as I was rushing out of the water, I thought I was under a great white shark attack. I was in total flight mode.
I said some choice words as I was hobbled out of the water and plopped down in pain as soon as I got to shore. My foot was bleeding and the pain excruciating.
There were no lifeguards on duty and I asked my husband not to call the paramedics (I’m not big on drama). I was hoping the pain would subside on its own. But it didn’t.
My husband did a Google search and come to find out, I was likely stung by a stingray. The pain I was experiencing was from its venom.
After a visit to the ER, a saline wash, an x-ray, and a tetanus shot later, I am to elevate my foot. But how in the world am I suppose to be creative while elevating my foot?

This is the bullet journal I use.
I needed to make a Halloween night sky, so I started this layout by covering the page in purple distress ink and then black distress ink. I used this blending tool and sponge.
After that was complete, I drew six boxes with an orange pen (perfect pen for writing on dark papers) and this ruler.
Then, I hand lettered the month with this brush marker, added silver accents with this pen, and wrote in the dates with this.
For the next part I brought out my ink pad and bat stamp (similar). I stamped outside the orange squares with the cutest little bat.
And for the last part, I used my alphabet stamps and block and stamped the days of the week.
See more of my Halloween bullet journal layouts here and here.
