I said brr, it’s cold in here! <—– bonus points – name that movie…
Today is the first day of winter. It’s windy and it’s cold, I hate it. Afterall, I’m not a penguin.
Aren’t penguins super cute though?
Well, to mark the first week of winter 2017, I needed to make the layout look all chill.
See what I did.

Details
This is the bullet journal I use.
I knew I wanted the page full of snowflakes so I figured I needed to create the gist of the layout before filling it out. So, I started by lettering the month. I used the blue brush pen from this set, this white gel pen, and the blue fineliner pen from this set.
Then I blocked 6 areas of the layout with hexagonal shaped paper created from a diecut. Just an FYI, the hexagons represent the areas for each day of the week. I didn’t want the snowflakes to blend into the hexagons so I blocked the area. Once that part was complete, I used my snowflake stencil (similar) with this blue ink and foam blending tool, and stenciled three snowflakes.
For the next part, I stamped the cute little penguins with this acrylic block and stamp pad. The penguin set comes with matching diecuts so I used my die cut machine, and cut out a few penguins. I wanted to layer the penguins, so I covered the penguins to make it seem like they were standing behind one another.
Then I used the hexagon stencil (it’s really a diecut) and drew in six hexagons, 3 on each side of the page. This represents the days of the week, Saturday and Sunday share the shape. I used the same blue fineliner pen as I did for the date.
I also lettered the days of the week with the dark blue pen from this set.
I almost forgot to color in the penguins so I decided to do so with these pencils.
And for the last part – I stamped the open areas with the snowflake stamps from this set by www.TheSassyClub.com. For the ink, instead of using an ink pad, I used the blue marker from this set.
