I parked my car and headed toward the grocery store. I walked passed 8 cars before hearing the ignition of the ninth car start. Automatically, I new I needed to be cautious of a reversing car. I slowed my walk.

Well, the car wasn’t moving, so I proceeded. With caution. Just before I walked past the car, I looked at the driver’s rear view mirror in hopes to make eye contact and to make sure she was aware of her surroundings. As I quickly walk past the car, at that exact moment she puts the car in reverse, doesn’t look, and reverses her car.

Her rear bumper skims my leg and I’m forced to pound her trunk with my hands. Finally, she looks at me from her rear view mirror. I provide her with some choice words and tell her to pay attention. Her response, “I was!” Um, no. If so, I wouldn’t have a moving car touching the side of my leg.

Luckily, I wasn’t hurt. But the entire incident left me all prickly. So I made a card to vent my frustrations. Check it out.  Just a word of caution, please be be careful out there!

Supplies

Step One

First, I ran the cactus planter die and watercolor paper through the die-cut machine. Then, I placed the matching stamp onto the acrylic block, inked it up, and stamped the image.

After the image was stamped, I transformed my green brush pen into a watercolor by coloring on an acrylic block and adding a bit of water. From there I painted the cactus. I did the same technique and painted the planter.

To add a bit of fun to the cactus, I painted the prickly parts gold.

Step Two

For the front of the card greeting, I lettered the word ‘hello’ with one of my favorite brush pens, the Tomobow Dual Fudenosuke (it has grey tip on one side and a black tip on the other). Still in my prickly state, the ‘hello’ actually means – hello, pay attention!

Step Three

I placed the kraft colored cardstock in the dotted embossing folder and ran that through the die-cut machine.

I also ran a white piece of cardstock and the circle die in the machine too. Because I wanted a semi-circle, I cut a portion of the circle off.

Step Four

I glued each piece onto the kraft colored cardstock with Tombow Aqua Mono Adhesive Glue.

And to give the card a bit more detail – I added a couple enamel dot embellishments.
