I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Polka dots have taken me by storm. I love them. I’m addicted!
Now, I have stencils, lots of them – in different designs. Yet I keep selecting the dots.
It may be my subconscious messing with me. Maybe it’s because I overlooked National Polka Dot Day back in January and now I’m making up for it?
So this week, I have a triple date with my husband, my parents, and my sister and her husband. We are going to see the Cirque du Soleil show, Luzia. We’ve had these tickets since before Christmas so I’ve been counting down the days for quite some time.
Luzia will be the eighth Cirque show I’ve seen, they are my favorite! To simply put it, the costumes, set designs, the colors and the acrobatic skills of the performers are absolutely amazing. I’m sure the show will inspire the colors I use in my next bullet journal. Until then, here’s the layout for this week. Check it out.

Step One
To start this layout I blocked a portion of each page with some washi tape. I used the tape as a guideline so I wouldn’t cross over it with my distress ink. Then, with my Distress Ink and Foam and Application Tool, I lightly colored in the bottom portion of the page.
Next, with my Prima Marketing Stencil in place, I added a heavier layer of the same distress ink with the same foam application tool. Once I was satisfied with the results, I removed the washi tape.
Step Two
I used a Ranger Number Stencil and a green Tombow Colored Pencil, and colored in the dates at various intervals of the journal.
Step Three
After all of the dates were colored in, I used my Ranger Stamp Pad and Prima Marketing Alphabet Stamps (and block) and stamped the abbreviations for each day of the week. The alphabet/number stamps are my thing, I use them on so many projects, I definitely got my money’s worth! For more stamping tips, tricks, and ideas visit my tutorial on Skillshare.
Step Four
For the last part I lettered the word March with a Tombow Brush Pen (245) and I drew little decorative lines with a black Tombow Mono Drawing pen. These drawing pens are the best, the nibs are extremely durable and don’t bend. They also come in three sizes 01, 03, and 05.
