Notebook Journal Layout - Spring Has Sprung www.thediyday.com @thediyday

Yesterday was the first day of Spring. Now, when it comes to seasons, Spring is the first on my list – then comes Fall, Summer, and Winter.

Spring in Southern California is perfect. It’s not too hot and not too cold, it’s like the Goldilocks of the seasons.

Most of all, I love all the blooms that start showing up. Peonies and tulips are my all time favorite flowers…although I’ve never bothered trying to grow either of them (I lack a green thumb).

The only part of Spring that I dislike is how the weather brings on my allergies. And for whatever reason, my allergies only effect one side of my body! My left eye is itchy and watery and my left nostril either runs or it’s stuffed-up. Crazy right?

Anyway, I couldn’t ring in Spring without flowers. So, I created a journal layout full of them! Check it out.

Supplies

  • Step One

I started this layout by stamping a bunch of different color flowers onto the bottom section of the notebook.  The inks I use are from various sets but made by the same brand, Ranger.  For a better stamping experience check out my tutorial on Skillshare.

    Step Two

Next, I created eight boxes with my purple marker and ruler.  There’s a box for each day of the week and a box for my notes and scribbles.

    Step Three

After the boxes were complete, I grabbed my purple ink (that I used for the flowers) and I stamped each abbreviated day of the week into its coordinating box. I just can’t get enough of these stamps. They are my absolute favorite and I use them on so many of layouts.

    Step Four

Last, I lettered the word March with a green brush pen and added some fun details with a white gel pen.
