Back in the day I was a total MySpace fan. I would change out the background templates as frequently as I’d change my socks. My family was in my top eight, I answered all of the about me questions, and of course I was friends with Mark…who wasn’t? Remember that MySpace rumor – unfollowing Mark caused pages to mysteriously shut down? I had glitter jifs too…I was that kind of MySpacer.
As I stroll down memory lane, MySpace edition, I am reminded of the relationships I’ve had with social media. Yes, I call them relationships because it’s like a “break-up”. I stop visiting the app and eventually it gets deleted. I had a brief relationship with Myspace and closed it for Facebook. Then I closed my Facebook account and opened Instagram. And just for the record, I have yet to embrace Twitter or SnapChat. What cool app will come out next that will cause me to close and change from one account to the next? Something is bound to right?
With all that said, here’s another change that I’ve noticed. It’s nothing major. I noticed that I don’t use the term ‘bullet journal’ like I once did. I’m more likely to say ‘journal’ and ‘notebook’ interchangeably. The updated name change totally works best for me because it’s shorter to say and type (I’m kinda lazy like that). That’s it for changes.
So, here is my journal layout for the week. Check it out.
Supplies
- Notebook
- Stencil
- Ruler
- Marker
- Mono Drawing Pen
- Purple Ink
- Foam Application Tool
- Brush Pen
- Days of the Week Stamps
- Acrylic Block
- Stamping Ink
Step One
I started this layout by blocking some areas of my notebook with square shaped paper. This prevents the ink from getting to unwanted areas in step two.
Step Two
Next, I placed my stencil right on top. I love designing my journal/notebook with stencils. This is a thatched stencil by Stencil1. They design a bunch of quality stencils with unique designs and are totally worth checking out! Anyway, with my foam application tool I applied purple ink to the top of the stencil. Once that part was complete I removed the purple pieces of paper from step one.
Step Three
With my purple marker and ruler, I drew in the blank areas, creating six boxes. I also lettered the month with my brush pen.
Step Four
Last, I stamped the days of the week into each box (combining Saturday and Sunday together) using my stamps by The Sassy Club. I used this acrylic block and ink for that task.
