Here’s a confession. I’m addicted to craft stores.
I can spend hours walking up and down the aisles and perusing every single item on the shelves. It doesn’t stop there though. I can go to the same store a week later and do it all over again.
The hardest part of it all is leaving the store with absolutely nothing. And when there’s three craft stores within a five mile radius that bill can add up…quickly.
So, I’ve decided to put myself on craft store restriction. I cannot purchase any art and craft supplies for the entire month of April. None. The benefit of this self restriction is so I can reacquaint myself with the supplies I have on hand. And it’s totally working (it’s been 10 days since I’ve gone cold turkey).
Here’s my journal notebook layout using several supplies I’ve had for years. I call this my bouquet layout. Check it out.
Supplies
- Notebook
- Stamps (set 1,2,3, 4)
- Acrylic Block
- Inks (1,2,3,4)
- Dual Brush Pen
- Drawing Pen
- Gold Paint
- Brush
Step One
I started this layout by blocking portions of the journal with circular pieces of paper. The reason for this is to keep ink off of these areas.
Step Two
Then, I used an acrylic block, several floral stamps (1, 2, 3, 4) and inks (1, 2, 3, 4) and stamped every single area of the notebook. For more details about stamping, visit my Skillshare class and get two months free.
Step Three
After removing the circular pieces of paper, I grabbed my brush and gold paint and lettered the month. I generally don’t put any form of liquid in my notebooks but I really wanted gold on this layout. Thankfully, it didn’t seep through to the other pages. Also, I wrote the dates in with one of my favorite black pens.
Step Four
Last, I lettered the days of the week with my favorite brush pen. This pen is my fav because the tip is flexible and firm. But also because there are two pens in one (one side is black the other is grey).
