August will be a great month!
My niece is in town and we’re having a blast together. She is turning 19 in a couple days and starting college in just a few weeks.
She will be absolutely busy with work, school, and studying so I’m glad she could visit before her schedule becomes too crazy.
Just the other day we did one of those escape rooms. My niece, my sister and her husband, and my husband and I did a submarine themed escape room. It was super fun for us to put our minds together to solve a series of puzzles. I totally recommend doing an escape room. Just be sure to go with a larger group. Two tweens and their grandmother were placed in our group. Those tweens were aggressive, pushy, and kept yelling at each other. Granny had to set them straight a few times.
Well, we finished the mission with ten minutes to spare. Afterward, we went home and had a pizza party. We bought pizza crusts and each of us decorated our own pizza with our favorite toppings. I think it will become a monthly tradition in our home.
Anyway, this month has so much more in store and my calendar is filling up quickly! Check out my calendar for August.

Supplies
- Notebook
- Stencil
- Brush Pens
- Alphabet Stamps
- Number Stamps
- Block Holder
- Acrylic Block
- Stamp Ink
- Month/Year Stamps
Step One
After doing a few measurements, I started making rows of ovals with my oval stencil throughout the notebook. I love the Tombow Galaxy Set so I tried incorporating many of the colors into this layout. For each row, I used a different color.
Step Two
Then I busted out my favorite alphabet stamp set and block, and placed the days of the week in their corresponding spots. This is the black stamp ink I frequently use.
Step Three
Next, I grabbed an acrylic block and this month/year stamp set by Artist’s Gather. This stamp set is so unique, I love how it resembles the flip clock from back in the day.
Step Four
Last, I grabbed the grey brush marker from the Galaxy Set and wrote in the dates. This calendar turned out perfect. Colorful!
