Here’s something new about me. About a month or so before moving to Texas (we moved this past June from California) I started drinking coffee. I had so much to do in so little time I was relying on coffee to keep me awake. I never had a strong liking for the stuff but found it useful.
Now that we’ve been here for a little over two months, I drink it sparingly – I hate that it keeps me awake even when it’s time for bed.
Around noon, my husband suggested we go to Starbucks. I was all down for it. I order a White Chocolate Mocha, delish! Soon there after, it gave me the jitters. Followed by the craziest headache ever. After doing some research, I believe I was suffering from caffeine overdose. Yes, that’s totally a thing!
I created this layout a couple hours after consuming my tasty beverage and was suffering from the shakes. I can totally see it in my work too. Check it out.

Step One
First, I stamped large and small peony stamps along the top of the notebook using several colors of stamp ink. When using flowers, I like to clump them into a confined area. Usually I start with the larger flowers first then stamp the smaller flowers around them. Then I fill the remaining open spaces with filler flower stamps (leaves or other floral that fit in smaller areas). Step Two
Next, with a black drawing pen and ruler, I created 8 boxes for my weekly schedule.
Step Three
Then I lettered the month with a yellow brush pen and filled it in with my brush and gold paint. I rarely paint in my notebook only because the paper isn’t heavy enough and can cause curling. However, whenever I create floral layouts (May, June, July) I love adding gold paint. I do not dilute the paint and use it straight from the bottle. The reason I letter with the brush pen first is because my lettering looks way different to me when I letter with a brush pen vs. doing it directly with a brush (call me crazy but it does).
Step Four
Last, with my acrylic block and black stamp ink, I stamped each corresponding box with these days of the week stamps.
