My love for notebooks, planners, and journals has always been a part of me, ever since I was in elementary school. Now that I am older, my obsession for them is stronger than ever! And the fact that there are so many more choices, I can’t limit myself to just one, two, or three – I need them all. With 2023 just around the corner I thought it may be helpful to share what notebooks I’m using for the new year.
1. Polka Dot To Do List
This book holds a special place in my heart. Not just because I love to do lists, but because I designed and created this book. There’s something very satisfying with checking off a completed item on my to do list. The layout is simple and to the point. It’s also affordable and available on Amazon for $8.25. It’s available in paperback and hardcover, but I prefer the paperback. The book measures 5.5″x8.5 and contains 120 pages.
2. Illustrations Journal
I found this journal at a thrift store and it was brand new with no tears, rips, or stains. This journal really caught my eye because of all the colorful illustrations. The paper in this journal is quite nice and differs in each section. There’s dot grid, graph, plain, and lined. I especially like the magnetic clasp in the flap that keeps the journal closed. My only gripe is having the title on the cover- but it’s definitely not something that would sway me from purchasing the book at regular cost and nothing a sticker can’t cover. Approximately measures 7.5×9.25.
3. Mushroom Journal
I bought this journal at Little Craft Place when I was in Texas earlier this year and I have yet to use it – I’m leaning towards using it as a junk journal. This journal is unique to me because of it’s set-up. Throughout the book within the pages, there’s several pockets and envelopes. But there’s also an assortment of paper types, dot, plain, kraft, lined, and framed, it’s also 100% recycled paper. Measures approximately 5.5×7.75.
4. Daily Journal
For my daily journal I’m using the Hobonichi Techo Cousin. The paper in the journal is lightweight and somewhat reminds me of the paper used in a bible. I appreciate how there’s a page for each day of the year and spacious enough for me to write, doodle, or decorate. The cover of the hobonichi is a soft yellow color, but I decided to personalize mine with Mod Podge, patterned paper, washi tape, and my initials. I may sew a cover to protect the journal from getting beat up, but currently I like it the way it is. Measures approximately 5.75×8.25.
5. The Squishy Notebook
I bought this fidget notebook for the sheer fact that it is fun to play with and only $5. It’s filled with lined paper and perfect for when I have thoughts and ideas to jot down. I will admit I’m a bit apprehensive about the gooey gel leaking from the cover; and the fact that I can’t be careless and just toss it into my purse bothers me. But it’s perfect for my fidgeting ways. Measures approximately 5.5×8.
