Step One
Trim patterned paper to 5.75″x 11.5″. Determine which portion of the paper is the top and create the following score lines as indicated below. The top portion measures 3″ (shape as an envelope if desired), the center 4.25″, and the bottom is also 4.25″ – after creating the score marks, trim off 1/8″ from the bottom portion; doing so prevents the happy mail from bunching up when it’s folded closed.
Step Two
Create the interior portions of the happy mail. The two background layers measure 4 x 5 5/8 and 4 1/8 x 5 11/16 and the pocket on top is 3.75×3.75. The pocket measures 3.75×3.75 and the envelope measurement is 4×5.25″.
Step Three
Add pictures, ephemera, and other embellishments to the pockets and envelopes. To keep the happy mail closed, attach sticky velcro. When mailing, be sure to place the happy mail in an envelope or box and obtain the correct postage.
