The newest collection from Cocoa Daisy is all about plants and aptly named From the Garden. This collection holds a special place in my heart as I recently acquired a green thumb over the last few years (growing succulents in Michigan). To celebrate this new hobby, I’ve decided to start journaling my plants. To start, I printed pictures of some of my favorite plants and trimmed paper from the From the Garden Planner Kit (no inserts May 2024).
To enhance the green theme of the collection, I added two sheets of kraft colored cardstock into my notebook/journal. I used the Crop A Dile Disc Power Punch, this tool lets me add and remove pages as needed. Then I added adhesive to the backs of the Cocoa Daisy papers (these flip open) and placed them onto the cardstock.
On this page, I placed before and after pictures of a haircut I gave to my plant, along with some alpha stickers (from the From the Garden Planner Add On) indicating such. I added a sticky note and washi tape to the layout (also from the collection) and included some journaling too.
This side of the layout contains 2×3 pictures of some of my favorite succulents. I included journaling tabs on each, making it easier to flip up and journal behind the pictures. I will likely journal about the type of plant, any important plant info, and how to care for the plant.
And here is the full spread. I ended up adding a couple beautiful butterfly stickers to the layout as the top and bottom of the right page seemed a bit too empty. Journaling my plants was so fun. I have about 15 more plants to journal about, so I’ll share those as I make my way with photographing them.
