Emailing is a thing of the past…sounds so weird to me.  For business and work, it’s an absolute.  But for personal, I have a love for sending and receiving snail mail.

Maybe it has to do with the effort behind it all.  Some major thought goes into the letter writing of course, but there is also the picking and the choosing of the stationery to write the actual letter on.  This internal dialogue actually goes on inside my head when I’m selecting the type of paper to use – fun colored paper, notebook paper, textured paper, or plain white (I could go more in-depth, but I don’t want to embarrass myself even more).

Once my internal paper debate is over, I fuss with the type of writing instrument to use.  Yep, I said writing instrument.  A pen isn’t just a pen and neither is a pencil or marker – there are subcategories.  Ballpoint, gel, rollerball, fountain pen, mechanical pencil, felt tip…get my drift?

Now, let’s not forget the envelope…the envelope is my favorite part.  It’s all about presentation – this puppy is going to all over the place, changing various hands before it reaches its destination point.  May as well make it eye catching – so I do.

So there it is, my love for snail mail and stationery.

And because it’s National Letter Writing Month – my envelope and letter are ready to go.  It’s a fake addy so it’s not really ready to go.
