I am absolutely obsessed with the color purple, it’s my favorite. I lean more towards buying purple grapes, purple cabbage, and purple onions just because of the color. Ok, I know it’s called a red onion, but come on it’s purple!!
Anyway, when I received my ambassador welcome box from Blitsy (read about that here), the box was filled with all sorts of goodies in all sorts of eye-catching colors.
Sitting in the box were a beautiful collection of mini purple inks in various shades. Believe me when I say – I was more excited than a seven-year-old kid on Christmas morning. I immediately knew I just had to use them in an upcoming bullet journal.
The anticipation and excitement of creating something purple-y must have given me create fright (an alternative to stage fright). I had too many ideas, none of which I liked or could permanently commit to in my journal. So, I decided to just start testing the colors on a scrap piece of paper. And then boom, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
On a side note, I must share this info. Although I did not pay for these inks, I am providing this review because these inks are amazing and I believe others will think the same. In a nutshell, these inks apply easily, dry quickly, and are beautifully vibrant. I will use them in the future for other bullet journals or when I use my rubber stamps. The packaging says the inks are water based, so don’t be surprised when I mix the inks with water and paint with it.
Enough of that, now let’s share.

I decided to make a purple ombré bullet journal layout, and I loooooooove it. I started at the bottom of the page with the lightest color of ink, soft lilac. I applied each ink color with this tool and I used a new blending foam with each color. I then used lavender fields, deep iris, and at the top, midnight violet. I didn’t mark the journal to indicate the stop and start points of each color, I just kept blending until I thought I wanted a new color.
Next, I used a white pen to outline most parts of the journal. I did alternate between this white pen and the white pen from this set because at times the ink just wasn’t flowing.
To stick with the purple theme, I used the purple from this brush pen set to write out June and July.
I was so happy when I found these calendar stamps. These are an absolute must for someone like me or anyone that likes having a calendar within a calendar. This is the black ink and stamp block I used with that stamp.
Notice how the ink color on these days of the week stamps, as well as the goals, ideas, and bow stamps are identical in color to June/July? That wasn’t an accident. I used the same brush pen as an ink for the stamps. For that method, I just used the brush pen to color in the stamp. Be cautious, some water based pens, do stain the stamp (the stamp is still usable though).
