I’m excited to share that I’m participating in a blog hop with The Ton Stamps. I’ve created two greeting cards using a couple stamp sets from their new Spring 2018 collection (14 new releases in all). Check out the cards I made and continue reading for a chance to win three new release stamps!
Supplies
- Large Dahlia 1
- Wild Dahlias
- Beautiful Bettas
- The Ton Couture Color (1, 2, 3, 4)
- Scrapbook Paper
- Watercolor Brush
- Foam Tape
- Glue
- Acrylic Block
Step One
When I was coming up with a design for this card, I knew I wanted various shades of pink florals. To start off, I stamped the dahlia flower and leaves from this set and this set onto watercolor paper. For the ink pads I used the Couture Color Minis. These ink pads are wonderful. They dry quickly and they are permanent, so it works perfectly when using watercolors on stamped images.
Step Two
While the watercolors were drying I created the base of the card. I used black cardstock and layered the bottom with black and white polka dot paper and shimmery black paper for the top portion. I also added some gold shimmery gold ribbon to hide the blends of the two pieces coming together.
Step Three
Once the stamped watercolor images dried, I cut them out (Large Dahlia Dies and Wild Dahlias Die) and created a layering flower effect. I used foam tape on the biggest dahlia to create a raised effect and placed the other flowers and leaves behind it.
Step One
I also made a card using The Ton’s Beautiful Bettas stamps. Like the Wild Dahlia Stamps, the Bettas come with layering stamps too. Layering stamps are my favorite! There’s something about adding different shades of color to really make a stamped image pop. With the base layer of the Beta fish, I used a light blue ink and stamped the image onto cardstock. Then, with medium shade of blue, I stamped the second layer of the beta fish onto the first. On the last beta fish layer, I did some heat embossing with dark shimmery blue embossing powder.
Step Two
Then I used three different green inks for the moss and stamped them onto white cardstock. To create an aquarium look to the card I did some watercolors on a circular piece of paper for the background.
Step Three
After cutting the images out, I glued them onto the card and added some sequins.
These stamps were so much fun to use. These new release stamps and coordinating dies are available now and shipping will begin on Monday, April 9. Order now and get up to two free gifts with purchases, head over to The Ton’s blog for details.
