It’s time to bust out those old glass vases or jars because I have a fun and easy tutorial to share.
Now, a plastic vase will not work (the heat gun will melt/deform it) and neither will a vase that contains bumps or ridges.
Still searching for a vase? Here are some suggestions- check the kitchen cabinets at work, ask friends or family, visit a thrift store, or stop at the next garage sale.
Most importantly, lettering is not a skill needed for this project. I’ve included the blooms printable that I created and used for this very project. Just print it up, stick it to the inside of the vase with some adhesive and trace it with an embossing pen.
So, it’s time to share the tutorial, check it out on YouTube. Also, for more on embossing techniques and ideas, please visit my Skillshare class and receive two months free!
Supplies
- Glass Vase or Jar
- Embossing Anti-Static Bag
- Embossing Powder
- Embossing Pen
- Heat Gun
- Blooms Printable
- Removable Adhesive
Additional Info –
Be sure to clean the inside and outside of the vase and dry it completely before creating on it.
When cleaning the jar, I highly recommend washing it by hand and using a soft cloth to gently clean the embossed area. Chemicals or abrasives may ruin the design.
*Don’t have embossing supplies but want to create on glass? Use acrylic paint and a brush, acrylic paint is about $.80 at most arts and crafts stores.
