Before decorating the Christmas tree and before the lights go up on the house, I start the holiday season by sending out Christmas cards.
This year, Mixbook is making my cards. Mixbook makes the process so easy and simple and the designs are just gorgeous! All I had to do was select the card and upload my pictures.
The other great part about Mixbook are all the customization options. From the color of foils to choose from (silver, gold, and rose gold), down to the font type, size, and colors, I selected it all!
Mixbook doesn’t just make holiday cards. They also specialize in home decor like canvas prints, calendars, and photo books (see all their discounts here).
This year I’m sending out this gorgeous Falling Snowflake card with silver foil snowflakes.
But, before I send them out, I decided to customize the envelopes too. It’s all about the presentation.
I’ve come up with five different envelope decorating ideas ranging from easy to super easy. I’ll probably end up mixing and matching some of these ideas together. Check it out.
Supplies
Option One – Washi Tape
Short on time or have limited craft supplies? Before mailing, seal the envelopes with holiday themed washi tape. Easy!
Option Two – Wax Seal
When it comes to sealing envelopes, I just can’t get enough of wax seals. I love mixing and matching the colors of the wax and there are so many different designs to select from. This set is similar to what I have.
I plan on sealing all of my Mixbook Holiday cards with a Merry Christmas wax seal. For this particular one I used a red/burgundy color of wax.
Option Three – Stencils
Stencils are another easy and fabulous way to decorate Mixbook envelopes. I just placed my snowflake stencil onto the envelope and applied blue distress ink right on top with this application tool. After covering the envelope with various sized snowflakes, I used a dark grey dual brush pen and black drawing pen to letter the family’s name. The blue snowflakes and the grey lettering really makes the envelope pop!
Option Four – Envelope Liners
How about envelope liners? Envelope liners are a great way to add holiday cheer to my Mixbook holiday mail. With my paper trimmer I cut a bunch of holiday themed scrapbook paper to 7″ x 3.75″ and made a crease at 1.5″ width mark (these dimensions fit the envelopes provided by Mixbook perfectly). I secured the paper inside the envelope with some adhesive.
Option Five – Stamps and Embossing
The last envelope creation takes a bit more time but is easy to do. For the last envelope I mixed stamping and embossing together – here’s how. First, I used black and blue distress ink and covered the entire envelope using this application tool. Then, I used embossing ink and stamped various sized snowflakes onto the envelope. Next, I sprinkled silver embossing powder all over the stamped image and melted the powder with my heat gun.
I cannot wait to send out my Mixbook holiday mail.
Happy Crafting!
