Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Something my husband and I enjoy about the holidays is we don’t really exchange gifts with each other. I say don’t really because we do…but we don’t.

Our gifts to one another revolve around the traditions we’ve developed as a family, we walk around and look at Christmas lights, we put up the tree, and watch Christmas movies (to name a few). But we’ve also added our own personal traditions, our annual gifts.

Every year since we’ve celebrated our first Christmas together, I’ve gifted my husband a coffee mug with several pictures from vacations we’ve taken throughout the year. Eleven Christmases later and we’ve amassed quite a few mugs. We use these mugs almost every day!

We even started another tradition after we married. Every year after Thanksgiving we shop to find the most perfect nutcracker/toy soldier. I select mine and he selects his. We now have six, proudly displayed in our home. They make the cutest decorations for Christmas.

I love the way we celebrate the holidays. It’s the greatest gift I could ask for.

Anyway, when I was in my office a few weeks ago I had about fifteen minutes to create. I really wanted to make a journal layout but those take me about 20+ minutes, but I gave it a go.

It took me about seven minutes to come up with the layout design, 3 minutes to gather the supplies, and about five-ish minutes to create. This layout is super easy, needs minimal supplies, and falls in line with the Christmas/winter themed layouts I’ve been doing for the month of December. Check it out.

Supplies

Step One

First, I placed three sticky notes on both sides of the notebook. Not much measuring is needed, I placed a sticky note on the top and bottom left and right of the journal and two right in the middle, creating a layering effect. The reasoning for the sticky notes is to create a block. I didn’t want any stamping to fall into those boxes once the sticky notes were removed.

Step Two

Next, with the peppermint stamp (similar) and red stamp ink, I stamped all over the layout.

Step Three

After removing the sticky notes, I outlined the boxes with a ruler and red marker.

Step Four

Last, I wrote the days of the week inside each box with the fine tip of a green brush pen.
