Happy New Year!!
I took a bit of a Christmas break from blogging and now I feel rejuvenated and ready to start the year.
Sometimes I feel as though the entire month of January is comparable to Monday. It’s like the holidays are the weekend, celebrating and having a great time, and then all of sudden it’s over, reality hits and it’s Monday (or in this case January).
But, for this January of 2019, it’s a whole new set of rules. This time around, January is fabulous to say the very least. It’s only the 3rd and so much has happened since last year…or should I say last week?!?!
I can’t just pour a bunch of coolness into one blog, so I’ll share what’s been happening, little by little, with each journal post.
With that in mind, each month I will post at least one layout that is basic, requires minimal supplies, and takes less than ten minutes to make.
Here is my first “10 minute journal layout”. Check it out.
Supplies
Dingbats Notebook
Helix Ruler
Tombow TwinTone Black Marker
Tombow Dual Brush Pen
Uniball Signo White Gel Pen
Graduated Circle Stencil
Step One
First, with a ruler and black marker, I drew a rectangle in my notebook. I use a dot grid notebook because it’s easier for me to measure and get straight lines then using a plain notebook.
Step Two
Using the same ruler and marker, I created horizontal and vertical columns to form the calendar. I added a bit of depth to calendar just by adding the same rectangle behind the first one and connecting the corners.
Step Three
Then I lettered the month with a brush pen, added a couple details with a white gel pen, and added the dates to the calendar.
Step Four
The side of the notebook looked a little to bare for me, so I used a graduated circle stencil and added some dots. The same look is achievable without the stencil.
