Sometimes I think gift cards are somewhat impersonal. But I must admit, I love gifting them.
Having that talent of giving the perfect gift is something I don’t possess. Rather than give a gift that will go unused or has the potential of being re-gifted, I’d rather give a gift card, that way the recipient can buy whatever he or she wants.
To help make the gift card more presentable and personal, I like to glam it up a bit. Check out the gift card holders I’m giving this year (the holder holds money well too!).
Supplies
- Decorative Paper
- Cardstock
- Envelope Punch Board
- Glue
- Christmas Tree Punch
Step One
With some decorative paper, create a gift card envelope using the punch board. I used the 2″ x 3.5″ gift card size. See my YouTube video for all the details on how this works.
Step Two
Trim the paper using the following dimensions. Be sure to use paper that corresponds well with each other.
Cardstock for the main base – 4.25″ x 6″ (create 2 fold lines 2.25″ and 4.75″).
Decorative paper top front flap – 1″ x 4″
Decorative paper bottom front flap – 2″ x 4″
Wrap around band – 1″ x 6″
Step Three
Glue the decorative paper (top and bottom front flaps) to their respective spots. Next, glue the wrap around band down the middle of the gift card holder.
Step Four
Flip the gift card holder around and glue the envelope to the inside middle section.
Step Five
Last, add glue to just the top portion of the the 3D Christmas tree and add that to the top front flap of the holder.
Here’s another version. Glue the entire tree to the front. But, the recipient will need to tear the card to get to the gift card.
Here’s the directions for the Christmas tree-
-Using the tree punch, punch out 3 trees and fold them in half (from the base of the tree to the top).
-Apply glue to one side of the first tree and add the second tree to it.
-Add glue to the second tree and attach the third tree to that.
Thank you for the wonderdul ideas and directions!
Thank you!!
