Envelope liners, some are for it and some are against it. I like lining an envelope because it just adds a personal touch to an otherwise plain piece of mail.
Lining an envelope is easy too and nearly any kind of paper can be used, there’s so many designs to choose from. When I line my envelopes I like to use a decorative piece of paper that matches the greeting card inside. And I like to make my own envelopes too.
For those wondering how I make my liners, here is how I do them. Check it out!
Supplies
- Envelope Punch Board
- Decorative Papers
- Thank You Stamp Set
- Glue
- Scissors
- Pencil
Step One
After creating an envelope with my punch board, I’ll line the inside. I take the leftover decorative paper from the card I made and I make sure the width fits perfectly inside the envelope and the height is long enough to hit just below the bottom/back flap (where my pointer finger is pointing) and above the seal flap (where the green pen cap is pointing). Just an FYI, the paper I’m using is double-sided.
Step Two
Then I open the seal flap and lay it right on top edge of the decorative paper. Next, I trace the envelope flap. The first trace line is the exact dimension of the envelope flap. Then I move the envelope down approximately 0.25″ below the first traced line and trace the envelope once again. The second traced line is the cut line.
Step Three
With scissors, I cut along the second traced line.
Step Four
Next, I place the liner into the envelope and line it up the way I want it (don’t glue it yet). With a pencil, I mark the envelope liner against the fold line from the flap of the envelope. I remove the liner and crease it.
Step Five
Then I add some glue to the liner, carefully place it in the envelope (line up the envelope crease with the liner crease), and that is it!
