Cupcakes. What can I possibly say about cupcakes? I can say this, a baker’s dozen is way better than the plain ol’ dozen. I can also say that red velvet cupcakes are my favorite!
In essence, cupcakes are just miniature versions of a standard cake. A cake though, can sometimes be overwhelming. I mean, cakes are big, they need cutting, and I don’t want to wash more dishes if I don’t have to (I’m kidding I am not that lazy…ok maybe I am).
But a cupcake, it’s this handheld tiny cake. It doesn’t need sharing and it fits so nicely in the palm of my hand. And let’s not forget…I have two hands!
This week, I made cupcakes and they are so pretty. They are fat free and calorie free too! These cupcakes are perfect and can be personalized and decorated like no other cupcake has ever been decorated before. Check it out.
Supplies
- Cupcake Die-Cut
- Die-Cut Machine
- Assorted Cardstock (various shades)
- Scrapbook Paper
- Brush Pen
- Glue
- Mini Tags (similar) (optional)
- Bakers Twine (optional- various shades)
Step One
These cupcake cards are great and there are several options when designing them. First, the cards can open one of two ways, from the side or from the bottom, I’ve created both. There are so many color options when creating these cards too. I decided to use bright colored cardstock and scrapbook paper with fun prints. The design options are unlimited! To create these cards, place the cupcake dies and coordinating papers in the die-cut machine and cut away.
Step Two
Next, I glued all of the cut outs to the base of the cupcake. I love seeing how the colors of the paper I selected come together.
Step Three
To give the cupcake more layers, dimension, and decor, I personalized and lettered a mini gift tag with my brush pen. Then, I glued the tag right under the die-cut cherry.
Step Four
Last, I created a basic bow with some bakers twine and glued that right next to the mini tag.
These cupcakes turned out so adorable. I can’t wait to mail them out. I create my own envelopes too, click here for details on the envelope punch.
