There’s some major satisfaction when it comes to checking off a box or lining out a completed item on my to-do list.

I’m not really sure where this enjoyment stems from. But I have several notebooks and journals filled with different to-do lists for several categories in my life. Here’s some of the to-do list categories I can think of off the top of my head: grocery store, big box stores (Target, Walmart, Home Depot, etc), online shopping, chores to do around the house, goals, bucket lists, creative, work, and general errands.

Each time I complete a line item from the list, I either line it out or I check the box – that is my favorite part. I think it all has something to do with accomplishing a task and seeing the list dwindle down.

I’m reminded of that episode from Friends where obsessive compulsive Monica is packing for London and she says, “passport check, camera check, Traveler’s Cheques check.” She gives herself a check for each item she packs in her bag. That’s so me!!

To go along with my fascination with lists and checks, Tifany from Ink Blot Shop sent me some of her newly released stamps. When I unwrapped the packaging there it was, stamps designed with lined paper, spiral notebook, clipboards, and grid paper. This particular stamp set is called Journaling Spots and I’m so excited to share how I’m using these stamps…to create lists of course, check it out.

Supplies

Step One

I started this layout by drawing 6 squares in my notebook using a ruler and 3 of my favorite Tombow Dual Brush Pen colors (373, 636, 665).

Step Two

Next I lettered the month using a two-tone look. With brush pen 665 (the lightest of the two colors) I lettered the month, and with a darker shade of purple 636 I colored in the bottom half of the month. Because the month looked a bit plain, I added some dots with a white pen. Then, on the top of each box, I abbreviated the days of the week with the bullet tip side of brush pen 373.

Step Three

Last, I placed the lined paper and spiral notebook stamp from Ink Blot Shop onto an acrylic block, inked it with some ink, and stamped the image onto the layout. All I need to do now is draw tiny square boxes to check off once I complete the tasks in the notes and goals sections.
